Is corn bad for babies? My daughter just started on solids and I never see or hear anything about corn and just wondered if anybody knew anything....experiences or whatnot...

I just tried pureed corn the other day and it made her poo like crazy! To the point that her bum was irritated so I think I'll hold off for awhile before giving it to her again. It's not really high in nutrition so I don't feel bad not giving it to her.

Corn is considered a 'high allergy risk' food, but some baby foods do contain it.
If baby has no other allergies, corn is probably ok. But if you prefer to hold off, that's not a bad idea.
(And if you are talking about whole corn kernals, the tough skins can make them hard to chew, so most babies just swallow them whole -- so they don't really get digested and go right through.)

Since corn cause allergy for some people, it is better to avoid feeding babies with it. After all, there are plenty of alternative good food in the market.
For any type of food you are not sure of its goodness for a baby, don't serve it till a baby can talk and express herself or himself. Then, if the food cause any allergy, the child would at least be able to tell you of her/his area discomfort. This would make fast and easier if any treatment is required.

There is nothing wrong with it. But there are much healthier veggies. Spinach, Brussel Sprouts, Broccoli, Green Beans, Corn. Corn really doesn't have much value. It is a starch. More likely to constipate.

Corn is very hard to digest. Some stage II babyfoods have it in them. I make Emma's babyfood, and at about six months I made her some frozen mixed veggies that had carrots, green beans, peas, and corn in them. I just would not do it by itself for awhile.

I hope not, because I fed my baby corn from 6 months. He's not had any bad reactions from what I can tell.
The corn was mashed up not nibblets.
