The best way to do iy is to not TEACH her the language at all. Just speak to her in Polish (preferably from birth), and she will naturally acquire the language. But start now, like McDoom says the natural ability to learn languages easily starts tapering off around age 7.

The ideal way according to research is to have one parent speak to the child in Polish and the other parent in English. This helps the child differentiate between the languages, but no matter what they will separate the languages eventually. I speak to my son in English ans Spanish, and his father only speaks to him in Spanish.

From the start. Babies and young children pick up languages very easily. My 3 year old speaks English, Romanian and good bit of Irish. If Polish is your mother tongue, speak to your baby in Polish as much as you can. Nursery rhymes and little songs are great to start with.

Do note, however, that some children can start to talk a little later than children speaking only one language. Our daughter started to speak at 2 and a half. She spoke English first but would respond to Romanian questions or statements. She sings songs and knows all her numbers, colours and animals in Irish too. Her Romanian is getting better every day.

Giving your child the chance to learn a second language is a great gift. Not only will they have 2 languages, they will also be more perceptive to learning other languages when they go to school.

If you are Polish, try speaking to her in Polish when you are alone together and when other people are around, switch back to English.

Good luck.

The best thing to do is start talking to her in polish right away. You can speak english and polish to her and the will grow up knowing the difference. If you wait until she is already talking then she will be used to the english already and may not catch on as fast. Talk to her in polish before she starts talking. My first language was Italian. Some people still spoke to me in english though and I learned more when I was in school. If anything right now all I use is english and I don't have an accent at all so don't worry about that. I think that it is very important to teach her your language. That way it won't get lost and she will be able to carry it on to her kids. Good luck!

just talk to her in Polish. I started teaching my daughter japanese, chinese, and spanish while i was learning it when she was around that age, and now she will go back and forth between all three and english (english is her main language though, as my husband and I are primarily english speaking) Just talk to her in Polish, and english, showing her what things are and numbers etc, and she should just pick it up just like english.

Before age 5 kids learn languages way easier than when they get older, and its always a fun game with me and my daughter. Good Luck! :]

Any time. Babies are naturally very very good at learning languages; their brains are programmed for it, and they can learn two languages as easilly as one. Just being exposed to and spoken to in Polish (or any language) will help your baby learn it as a first language, so long as it is done often enough.

Children have this ability up to the age of around seven years, and then it disappears forever, so there's no reason to wait.

you should start now. babies will pick up and comprehend some language by the time they are 3 monthes old, although they cant say it yet.

If you want her to be bi-lingual, you should alternate each day. Speak only english today, and only polish tomorrow. alternate every day.

my aunt did that with my cousins and it has worked. She now just speaks only spanish at home so they keep up with the language and then they speak english at school and other stuff.

good luck :)

If Polish is your native language, do it now. If it isn't, is she going to have others to practice with? Because I almost guarantee that she won't be speaking it at 7 otherwise.

It is best to start speaking to her in Polish right from birth. Babies begin assimilating language at birth.

toddler sign language is an astonishing ingredient! i'm examining up on it because of the fact I plan on employing it. in fact, it cuts back on the unhappiness of the toddler because of the fact he/she would be able to particular emotions. The coordination skills for language take longer to enhance ( 15-18 months) yet toddlers as youthful as 7 months can use the sign language to particular those emotions! it quite is astonishing! I unquestionably have buddies who used it and their toddlers have all been minimally fussy because of the fact they might permit you comprehend what they want instead of crying and arranged so you might parent it out! many mothers and fathers are worried that this could stunt toddler's verbal skills whilst unquestionably the choice has got here across to be authentic. toddlers who would desire to apply sign language, unquestionably had a miles better, greater progressed language base by potential of 18 months of age. as properly, as you're signing, you're, ideally, talking the words as properly. I unquestionably have study you may start signing to them as early as you like however the earliest you will see the indicators would be 5-7 months.

at birth -start singing, talking, and reading in the 2nd language. your child may be a late talker because she is figuring out syntax of both, but she'll be wiser than her peers.
