Is it safe/ok to put my baby's crib next to/half under a window?

Ok this may seem odd but this is my first pregnancy and I'm 23 weeks..... I have very tight space as I am living with my mum in a two bedroom house giving to us by her work so my bedroom will have me and my newborn in November and I only have to find come where for my baby's crib. I was thinking of moving my mirror and pushing my draws to my chair so I have enough room but for that half of the crib will be under the window and the other next to the window I don't have the blind cords so that won't be a problem and we live in the country in the middle of no where where there's not much bad weather.....is it ok to put my baby under and next the window?

As long as the window locks then yes. Obviously once they start standing you cant have the window open incase they fall out

Have you consider skipping the crib to save space and have your child sleep with you?

There are bed side sleepers available too, as another option. Something like this:

In general there isn't a reason your child can't sleep under a window if that works best.

The light might make napping difficult, but opaque drapes can fix that. The only other concern I can think of is cold drafts in the winter.

All in all, I don't think it's unreasonable, though.

I spent my first few weeks in the bottom drawer of a cupboard (open of course) back in the 40s.

Of course its ok as long as there is no draft.

Why wouldn't it be? The kid won't jump out the window.
