I sing row row row your boat at bedtime.

I love that baby, yes I do.
I love that baby, yes I do.
I love that baby, does he love me too?

My grandson is 3 wks old today and a few days ago when I was with my daughter and Zack was fussy, she suggested that I sing an old song that my mother taught me how to sing harmony to and I so taught her to harmonize as a child. I'm not sure of the title, but it goes something like this:
With someone like you, a pal so good and true, I'd like to leave it all behind and go and find a place that's known to God alone, just the spot to call our own. We'd find perfect peace where joys would never cease, somewhere beneath the kindly skies. We'd build a sweet little nest somewhere out in the west and let the rest of the world go by.
I also sang You are my sunshine, and the abc song. Its been 24 yrs since I had babies, but I know I sang a lullaby, but can't remember which one. It doesn't really matter what you sing as long as its pleasant and soothing. Their little brains are taking it all in, so all the sights and sounds are making an indelible impression. You could even "sing" a good book. Enjoy your little one. They grow up so fast!

I sing Rock a Bye Baby (of course), Hush Little Baby, Wheels on the Bus, This Old Man, Bingo, Old MacDonald, and quite a few others but my favorite to sing to him, ever since he was born, has always been You are my Sunshine, because he IS the sunshine in my life and brightens every day with his smile =)

When my daughter gets fussy I sing "Hush Little Baby" to calm her. At bed time I sing Too Ra Loo Ra Loo (I don't know all the words so I hum part of it). I also sing Christopher Robin sometimes just for fun. My older daughter thinks it's funny because her dad's name is Kristopher.

My husband and I sort of made up a song. We call her Nini's as a nick name...
Oh the Nini's eats panini's, oh the Nini's I love you.
Oh the Nana's eats Bananas, oh the nana's, I love you.
Pretty much anything else that rhymes like the vowel song. She loves it.

I sing the classic baby songs (Rock a bye baby) and nursery rhymes. Although I occasionally make up my own, spur or the moment. Really anything works as long as it is soothing and calm. Just hearing your voice will help soothe your baby.

Frank Sinatra's "Theme from New York, New York" - my Munchkin absolutely loves it.
I also sing him Hang On, Sloopy (yes, we're Buckeyes fans, and yes, I move his arms into the O-H-I-O - lol!), "Louie, Louie" (and we have dance moves that accompany it!), and Billy Joel's "Keeping the Faith" - he would kick like mad during my pregnancy whenever this song came on.

I always sing "I'm so pretty, oh so pretty" to my daughter and she just grins really big. She will be 3 months old tomorrow and she loves to be told she's pretty. LOL.

anything by the fray. She has a lullaby CD, but I don't like singing them. The fray is slow enough to sooth her, but catchy and upbeat enough for me to enjoy as well.

Actually, I sing songs that I like and listen to. As long as it doesn't teach fowl language or promotes sex or anything like that, why not?
