It may not be unique, but it was the most fabulous gift I received! My church has a group of volunteers that make main dish & dessert, sides optional, and brings them over the course of two-three weeks. Usually there was enough for leftovers the next day for lunch.



The dinners didn't start until a couple days after we came home so thank God my mom made dinner for us the first night! I'm not sure we would have eater otherwise.

When I had my baby, I had to stay in the hospital for 2 nights, so my b/f stayed with me the first night, and then my mom stayed with me the second night, and the day that i got to come home, my b/f had a bubble bath with roses floating in the water waiting for me lol, and then after i got out of the bath, he had a nice dinner waiting for me, and while the new baby slept me and daddy got some nice alone time to eat and talk about the excitement of having a new baby. After we were done eating I got to lay down for awhile and rest up at home from the hospital stay, while my b/f took care of the baby for a couple of hours. You wouldnt believe how special that made me feel. It made me feel like he really cared about me and new exactly what i needed right when i needed it. You would be surprised at what the small things can do to bring someone up!!!!

Seriously, the best gift for someone with a new baby is plenty of help, love and support!! Sounds cheesy but I was in thatsituation 5 months ago and I don't know what I would have done without the afore mentioned from friends and family!

the things that i would appreciate if i were to give birth and come home is a small party and pay attention to not only the baby but the mommy also :) let her know what a great job she did and let her know that she is just gorgeous! have presents for her that are not baby related.. make sure to let her know that you are doing this for her..

I think my favorite gift was a camera (just a cheap normal one), extra film, a photo album, brag book, and a scrapbook starter kit, she threw all that in a basket covered in quotes about babies, with other needed things.

One of my favorite would be a time capsule with a little bit of everything up to the birth of the baby.
