Actually, if your baby cries in it's sleep it's more likely to be a tummy pain thank nightmares. Babies don't think the same as well do (in pictures) until a little older...they have natural fears of falling, being alone and the dark however and these can cause them disturbance in sleep.

It can be night terrors, but I don't think is nightmares. Kids that age are too little to know the difference between bad and good. Also, everything is new to them, hence "scary" is everything around them. I don't think it has to do with been scared because then we would have had problems with all babies having nightmares about trying to turn around and not been able. LOL.

Night terrors is real, they happen more often on older kids, but is pretty much a "feeling" of been scared, or falling. No actual dreams happen, just the feeling of something phisically happening (I remember mines). Most of the time when you go to them they are asleep and if you wake them up they can't remember "the dream" (there was no such thing).

*Always talk to the pediatrician when doubts like this one arise.
