You should keep your babies diet as boring as possible for about the first 3 months then you can start on your cereal,or baby foods, the reason being your child may have an alegic reaction to cereal and having little baby so sick can be stressful and emotional for the family.

Most pediaticians say between 4-6 months. Doctors say introducing foods to early can lead to allergies, but it not always the case. I did the recommanded diet for my kids, 4-6 months and you know what, they still have allergies. Try waiting at least 4 months and always spoon feed the baby, never in the bottle. You'll know when your child is ready, when they show an interest. Six weeks is too young. Don't intoduce cereal to your daughter now.

most pediatricians say 4-6 months old is appropriate to give cereal. if their weight has doubled since birth and they can sit up with support, they are ready to eat cereal. my wic consultant said wait until six months. i read an article that says something about open gut during 4-6 months and the feeding of cereal too early can cause allergies. keep feeding formula or breastmilk until the baby is no longer satisfied with it. see these sites for more info

I began feeding cereal to mine upon arrival home... My Kids were good babies, and they slept through the night, Thanks to cereal. I think that cereal will answer all your problems... My mom is the one who suggested it to me as this was what they did back when she was born, and we were born,so I did it and do not regret it... In my case none have any allergies, and did sleep all night, and my pediatrician was ok with it, and I was ok doing it...

my kids are healthy, and eat good with no allergies to food... If you do not get your answer here, try your peds.

doc. and see what he suggests and instructs.... he'd have all updated info.... My babies were good babies after starting cereal, they would get agood nights sleep and be alert the next day, & I feel it was because their little

tummies were full. I can not tell you this is your answer, but I can suggest it to you, and what you do from there is ofcourse your decision. I hope this does help you, and I hope that you follow your own heart.....

I say your child can eat cereal because my kid ate cereal at 4 weeks. The doctors say no but I say give it a chance. He/she will be fine. My kids are, I hope that helped.

they say that the earlier you introduce solids into your babies diet, the bigger the risks for them to develop allergies to food. It is best to weight till the baby is at least 4 months and then slowly start at rice cereal. Some doctors will instruct you to supplement the formuala with rice cereal if the baby has reflux and is failure to thrive...I had to do that with my twins and then they both had terrible food allergies...I wasnt even allowed to introduce peanut butter till age 2 at the docs office!

Good luck!

I say six months atleast. Or if you notice she wants more bottles and is not getting full. When you buy cereal be careful some of it does cause constipation.

I started my daughter at 3 months old. I put it into her bottle with the formula to begin with and then started it by spoon at 4 months old.
