Question:
Who uses generic brand diapers?
2008-09-06 16:51:14 UTC
i have always used Huggies brand, and for a while used pampers but kept having problems with soaking through the diaper. Has anyone used generic like Target brand? same thing for formula? Are they just as good. I need soemthing less expensive. Any recommendations.

I'm not to sure of the quality of the generic diapers but what i can say is to make sure that which ever brand you use does not give your baby a rash i tried using diff brands but the only 2 brands that work for my baby's skin is huggies and pampers even now that we are potty training i can not use the huggies cool alert it gives her a really bad rash! good luck!

I bought a package of Shopko brand diapers last week when I ran low on Huggies on vacation. I've just been using them during the day and Huggies at night and they've been fine. Normally I buy amazon.com cases which are a great price per diaper with free shipping and no sales tax. If you're a Costco member I highly recommend their Kirkland formula, otherwise Parent's Choice from Walmart is also a good choice.

We use Huggies. when she came home we had Pampers.. they gave her a rash.

Similac Advanced formula. I am looking for a formula that is generic as we are running out fast during the end of the month. I'm thinking about Member's Mark formula since we shop at Sam's.

We get 200 Huggies diapers for $35, size 3.

I've tried the cheaper brand diapers that Wal-Mart carries.. Luv's, Parent's Choice, etc and my son wakes up soaking wet.. or poo half up his back (don't ask me why). We have to use Huggies. For some reason those are the only diapers that work for him, but they are so bulky. Plus side is, they have no scent. We do use Parent's Choice formula on the other hand. My son had a lot of problems with Similac, so I decided to give it a try, because it was half the cost. Turns out it works great for him. Who would have thought?

I like the Kirkland brand diapers-$30 for 232 of them. My daughter will only take Good Start formula though and unfortunately though there is no generic of it although i have heard that the Enfamil and Similac generics at Costco or Target are just as good.

We tried using Target brand, but found, with a boy, that he just peed on himself. If you decide to buy the cheaper diapers, I would recommend using diaper doublers with them. You can buy them at Babies r us for like 2.99 a package. They double the absorbancy of the diaper. We use them with Huggies at night because our son needs them. I guess he's a strong wetter! Ha! Good luck! As for formula, we never used generic because we had a hard time finding one that worked for our son. So, I've just stuck with what works.

I started out using pampers and similac.... now i am using parents choice from walmart which only cost me 11 bucks per can when similac cost me 25 a can and i now use white cloud diapers and buy a box for 15 bucks instead of spending 26 on a box of the pampers cruisers! My girls love the formula although they drink less of it seeing that they love baby food and the diapers i think are the best i have tried for my girls... i have absolutely no leaking through the night!

I always use generic brands. I always buy the cheapest brand available at the store I go to which is usually WalMart. They work just as good as Huggies. I personally never liked the Huggies brand.

i haven't used generic formula, probably not a good idea... but i have used target brand diapers and they're not all that great. i definitely never bought them again. I'm sticking with the Huggie's. they're expensive for a reason, you get what you pay for. the target brand doesn't form right with there legs, the Huggie's have a curve on each side for the legs so they fit comfortably and good. the target brand left red marks on my son's legs because it would rub back and forth on him constantly. once i switched back to Hughie's he was fine again.

I love Walmart brand everything. I like their wipes better then any of the others. They are just the right thickness and I don't have any problems getting them out of the container when he's wormin' around on the table. I also like the Parent's Choice diapers that Walmart carries. My son leaks out of everything once in a while but I found it's less frequent in this brand.

I used Huggies and Similac formula for the longest time. but then my mom discovered 250 diapers for 35$ at sams club and a huge can of formula for $20 that lasted for 2 weeks. they are just as good. my niece was always spitting up similac and once she switched to the cheaper kind she never did anymore. its called members mark? i think. i'd def. recommend it.

I tried using store brands but with no luck. I use luvs. You can sign up at luvs.com and get coupons and they are about 4-5 dollars cheaper than name brand. I have a 6 year old son and 22 month old twins.

For my daughter I used Teddy's choice (in Canada at loblaws or superstore) and I loved them for her, for my son they didn't do too well but Costco does amazing for him, We used huggies before the kirkland brand and I find kirkland is better than huggies.

Parents Choice is not to bad. I think every diaper fits each baby different. I ended back with Pampers though, never had any trouble with them and that is what I like. Watch for sales, and then use coupons and go for bigger size packages
