Get your aprons on moms! What's for dinner tonight?

It will be that time before ya know it! Dinner time!

First question- Does your baby like to be in the kitchen with you while you cook? What do you do to distract him/her? Brayden likes to be in the kitchen with us. He likes the pots and pans! Or get in the cabinet with all the plastic bags and take all of them out.

Second- What's for dinner tonight? We are having Chicken broccoli alfredo! YUUUUUM! It's something we just threw together one night and loved it since.

Homemade spaghetti with homemade bread!

I made some bread in the bread machine...didn't quite make it all homemade, I guess.

Spaghetti sauce:

2 cans Italian style tomatoes

1 can Italian style stewed tomatoes

1 small can tomato paste

1 sweet onion

1 pepper- green, red, or whatever

Frozen Meatballs (I like Kroger's Italian ones)

2 Tablespoons dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

2 Tablespoons sugar

garlic powder taste

salt to taste

1.In food processor, blend tomatoes, onion, and pepper.

2.Put in crock pot on low

3 add tomato paste, garlic, salt, spices, and meatballs

4. cook in crock pot for a couple hours, and voila! Makes the house smell great, too.

*both kids like being in the kitchen while I cook. My 3 year old is a big helper. We keep a step ladder in there for her, and she helps me measure and stir everything. She is already comfortable with cooking...and she's a natural.

Lol, thanks Danielle. I was considering being a pastry chef. I love being in the kitchen. It was either that or massage therapist. I went with massage therapy because I didn't want to wake at 3am to prepare fresh pastries everyday.

Cam hangs out in his high chair while I cook....I talk to him, or my mother plays with him somewhere.

For dinner tonight, I marinated chicken in italian salad dressing and my fiance is going to cook it on the grill. Then Cam will have some steamed carrots and peas. Food is a little harder for us, I'd love for him to get Chicken Broccoli Alfredo, that sounds soooooo good, but he is allergic to milk. Also deathly to eggs. So that avoids a lot of fried food and junk food. On the bright side, at least Cam is getting a healthy diet, LOL.

I'm excited to try this tonight. My mom emailed it to me. She made it last week and loved it. Yes, when he is on the ground crawling he crawls in the kitchen. If daddy is holding him he throws a fit to be put down.

Cheddar Garlic Oven Fried Chicken

1/3 cup butter, melted

2 tablespoons minced garlic

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup bread crumbs

1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Set oven to 350°F.

Butter an 11 x 7-inch pan

In a bowl, combine melted butter with fresh minced garlic, garlic powder and salt.

In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs with 1/2 cup finely grated cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese and coarse ground black pepper.

Dip chicken in butter mixture; then in crumb mixture.

Place in prepared pan and bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes (placing the chicken on a rack in a pan will produce an extra crispy crust).

Cover with remaming cheese during the last 5 mins of cooking.

I'm not sure about a side yet. Probably some kind of vegetable.

Sounds delicious!

We're having a really easy chicken bake, i'm trying to keep life simple since we're moving this weekend so most of our kitchen is packed away and Caleb is teething and running a little fever... so the easier the better.

The chicken bake on the back of the campbells cream of chicken soup can. Layer rice, veggies, cheese, (I use a little ortega chile to add some spice), and top it off with cream of chicken soup... and chopped chicken, bake and voila. I also top it off with fresh avocado and a side of salsa and it's yummo!! I serve it with a side salad and some chopped up fresh fruit (tonight cantalope and watermelon)

And Caleb loves to be in the kitchen, making a huge mess of pots and pans for me to pick up later lol :)

I'm thinking about making chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy tonight :) Not fully decided yet but I'm pretty sure that's what we're gonna have. And I will most likely end up being the one sharing my dinner with Aisling lol

That reminds me, I have to take the chicken out of the freezer still lol

And Aisling will usually crawl around the kitchen babbling to herself and trying out any new words she has learned. Tonight will probably be a "Who's that?" and "What's that?" soundtrack lol

Or she will be in the living room playing with daddy or her toys.

Yes, my daughter LOVES to be in the kitchen, she always wants to help. I give her small things to do that will help with making the dinner. If there isn't anything she can do then she likes to just sit on the counter and watch us cook.

Tonight for dinner is the Manicotti recipe you posted a couple days ago! I can't wait to try it!

My daughter's little playroom is right off the kitchen and dinnertime prep usually falls when Blue's Clues is on...so she checks that out for awhile. But she ALSO, loves pulling out plastic bags...that's her fave.

I was thinking about making ground turkey stuffed peppers but it is HOT here in Portland, OR today. Supposed to be 107 later on, so I might just do something that will not heat the whole kitchen up...like hoagie sandwiches and macaroni salad.

My son likes to be in the kitchen while I cook. I usually give him a cookie and let him watch. Tonight my husband and son are having spaghetti and I am having lemonade since I started the Master Cleanse today.

My daughter doesn't mind being in the kitchen. I put her in her bouncy seat or high chair and just talk to her while I'm cooking. At this point it doesn't take much to entertain her.

Tonight we are having chicken cordon bleu, mashed potato's, green beans and beer bread. I made the chicken quick over lunch and can pop it in the oven when I get home! My daughter will be having peas and carrots.

Yes my son loves being in the kitchen when I'm cooking! But usually only because he can get into mischief in the tupperware cupboard and because I give him things to try, lol.

For dinner.. I think I'm going to make those potato bundles on thepioneerwoman.com because I'm 25 weeks and craaaaaaaving potatoes. No idea what will go with them... maybe pork tenderloin if I take it out of the freezer right now... :P

Yes, Ethan loves to be in the kitchen with me.... and where ever he goes, Sophie goes! I give him the pots and pans, little pieces of bread to "cook" in his play kitchen, tea bags, empty cans to play with. Whatever I can distract him with that day!

We are having chicken breast cooked in a pan. Then I add chicken broth, red onion slices, zucchini and couscous and stewed tomatos. It's sooooo good!

Our son LOVES to be in the kitchen when somebody is cooking. We have a plastic coffee can with some different things in it that is just for our son to play with and it stays in the kitchen dining room area for him to play with. It usually entertains him pretty good!!

As for the what's for dinner?? Not sure...he will be with his Grannee for supper tonight since I have class this evening...

Tonight I'm making taco salad. It's healthy but yummy too.

PJ either hangs out in his highchair while I cook or stays in his playpen in the living room. The kitchen is open to the living room so I can see him at all times lol don't worry.

My husband holds the baby while I'm cooking in the kitchen and explains what I'm doing and we let him taste what's cooking.

Tonight I'm making a chicken mac'n cheese dish.

Whole wheat pasta, ground chicken, peppers, carrots, onion, broccoli and garlic in a light cheese sauce.

Yes he loves to be in the kitchen with us, I put him in his highchair and put some cinnamon toast crunch cereal on his tray, he loves that and it keeps him occupied, Josh is cooking a meatloaf with mashed potatoes, I never like meatloaf until he cooked it and he got me hooked. Yours sounds good too.

Seeing as how I am pregnant and no kid yet...we will be having pizza-I don't usually feel like cooking after a long day spent one half and work and the other half at school.

Wish I had the energy to do it though...count your blessing
