My baby is almost 4 months, and is ready for some kind of jumper. What jumper do other parent's like? Are they safe? I know Walkers are not safe anymore, which is why I am looking for a jumper. Are they worthwhile?

I bough a jumperoo at a garage sale so im not sure of the retail price but id say it is well worth it. My son would jump for an hour while i got work done and he loved it. He started around 4 months and now is 10 1/2 months, and still jumps for a little while when i need a break, although he'd rather be pulling himself up on everything.
I don't think they are necessary because there are so many other things you can do with your baby to entertain them, but lets face it, you cant entertain them 24 hours of the day.

Walkers aren't really so bad if the wheels lock or come off, but they don't offer any jumping or such. I've seen jumpers that attatched to door frames, but I was never comfortable with them. My daughter used a walker with the wheels off for a while because we were supposed to get an exersaucer from a friend, but by the time they were actually ready to give it to us she had outgrown it.
I believe it's Fisher Price that makes ones with adjustable heights for as baby grows, those will probably last the longest. Just check the weight restrictions. But yes, jumpers are great for developing leg muscles and totally worth it even if they only use them a month or two.

I just ordered a couple of doorway jumpers. Look at babies in them on youtube. They go NUTS!
I looked at reviews on amazon.com and picked a couple of the most popular and best rated ones for my 3.5 month twins.
I also have the fisher-price laugh and learn exersaucer/jumper. I think it makes sense to have one of each. And the F-P one is an exersaucer + jumper combined, so they can jump and play with the toys. The doorway jumpers I picked also have a couple of toys built into them.
The Johnny jumper is cheaper then the others at only $19, but they are not rated as well. No toys on them, and they don't jump as well it says.
If you get the exersaucer / jumper check out Craig's list. Because they retail for like $120, but you can get them for $40 on Craig's list.
The doorway jumpers are only $30 new with free shipping, so new maybe easier then driving out somewhere to get a used one for $20.

I have the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. It was OK. In my case, my daughter started crawling at 6 months. And once she could move around, she didn't want to stay confined in a jumperoo. So I think I didn't get much use out of it (2 months max).
I do think that it was safe and that my baby enjoyed it while she used it.

I don't particularly care for the jumpers that hang from the door jam but all 3 of my children have loved their walker/activity chairs.

my son has a rain forest jumperoo best money ive spent so far on something for my son he loves it! i also love it because its not in a door way! we just keep it in our living and store his toys and things under it when hes not using them that way it does not take up too much room!
