I want to use a symbol as a middle name for my child. Will social security and vital records for her ss card and birth certificate recognize it?

Recognize it???? If they can't input it on a keyboard they won't have a way to keep track of it and will ignore it---unless some smarty pants types something like "weird symbol" and your kid ends up saddled with the words "weird symbol" as part of his/her official name.

MMM..no vital records will not recognize it. Even at immigrations, if a name cannot be pronounced, it will not be recognized. Sorry! I'm sure you can find another way to be creative. Just out of curiosity, what is the symbol you are looking to use?

Do what you think is right. I'm not sure to the answer about Social security office but I think thats not important.

P.S. Laura something is just always insulting people (very rude personality, believing she/he is dominant)

Are you smoking crack? Nobody will recognize it. Why are you being so selfish? Think of the child for once! Gezz this really pisses me off! This is so stupid it has to be a joke.

No they won't (unless it's a foreign language character?) - they will even reject names they think are ridiculous (like phrases). Sorry.

I don't know, but I doubt your daughter would appreciate that very much.
