It really depends, the most important thing is to maintain a schedule, try not to arouse him when he gets up at night just change and feed him and then back to sleep. Never put him in bed with you, you can't sleep well and neither will he. Most babies sleep through the night around 6 to 8 months old. Some do earlier and others it takes longer than that. It depends entirely on the child. My son began sleeping through at about 6 months and I believe it is because he started solids and I stopped nursing and put him on formula as he was hungry all the time. I am part of a group of 11 mothers with children from 10 months to 7 months.... some of whom still arent sleeping through and others who have slept through since the day they were born. Apart from hunger something else we found fairly common in the group was the children wouldn't sleep through if they were cold.
It is said that we all wake up as many as 20 - 30 times a night but go back to sleep so quickly that we don't even remember it. Babies have to learn to put themselves back to sleep and like evrything else they learn it does take time. I was told by many health professionals not to expect that my son would sleep through before he was 12 - 18 months old.... I was luck though!!!

All Babies are different. My daughter slept through the night at two monthes, I was really lucky. I had to make sure she was full and changed, and for some strange reason she has to go down awake. If you feel comfortable with it, you have to create a routine and stick to it. He will probably cry, but if you took care of all the necessaties, he will be fine. Remember though, You know you child and if his cry sounds distressed or srange, you should check on him. And that sometimes they wake up about an hour after they fall asleep becaus of the transition into REM. Good Luck!

That is like asking "How long is a piece of string?"
Easiest answer, Keep your child fed, dry and clean, try to establish a routine where you spend time keeping it awake during daylight hours a little longer, then, when baby wakes during the night, just feed, don't talk. My 6 year old was sleeping through at 5 months when we started this routine at 4 and a half.
Hope this helps.

They are ALL different. There is no right answer to this. Try The Sleep Lady book. After 15 months of waking up 2-5 times a night, we used her method and it worked! It took a week but it worked!

it depends on the baby and on the parent(s). also a baby may start sleepin through the night, only to stop several months later. it is exceedinly rare for a baby to sleep through the night before 2 months. 4-6 months is a better time range to expect. but it may b longer, much longer. my daughter is 16 months and she still doesn't sleep through the night.
if u want to train ur baby to sleep through the night, she needs to learn to self-soothe. (note, do not try to force a child to sleep through the night before 2 months of age/ weight of 12lbs. they need the extra nutrients they get from nighttime feedings.) this can b dun in a variety of ways and there have been many books written on the subject, none of which i have implemented with any success cause i can't stand to hear her cry, lol, but good luck to u.

My toddler began dozing in the time of the evening whilst he replaced into 17 weeks previous. He gave up the evening feedings on his very own- first he gave up the ten pm, a week later he stopped waking for the a million am, and then 2 weeks later, at 17 weeks previous, he stopped wakign for the 4 am bottle. He did wake for short sessions (purely a jiffy) and then suitable back to sleep as long as we did no longer flow into his room- so form of a cry-it-out technique. yet he on no account cried for long sessions. he's now 6 months previous, and he's an outstanding sleeper. we are fortunate!

Every child is different. After my child was a month old what helped me was to make sure my child was full before putting him in his crib(sometimes babies wake up in the middle of the night because they're hungry), giving him a nice long warm bath, and taking him outside for some fresh air before his dinner and bath. My child would fall asleep from 8pm to 8am the next morning.

It totally depends on the child. My next door neighbor says that hers didn't sleep through the night until he was a year old. Mine slept through the night at three months.
